Get a FREE Survey by Our Professional Team
Once we have quoted you on your shutters, One of our surveyors will visit you to carry-out a complete and thorough survey. Unless you have given us EXACT measurements, then you final price will be LESS than quoted as we take precise measurements.
We will also discuss your preferred style, suggest the best configuration/ frame type and help you with any questions you might have about your new shutters when we carry out your FREE survey.
Our surveyors carry samples inorder for you to choose louvre sizes and go through paint colour finishes and stain options.
Accuracy in surveying is paramount to your shutters looking and working perfectly. Sills and walls can be out of plum or 'warped' which means we must allow for movement in the framework and panel adjustments to ensure your shutters fit snugly and work smoothly.
Our surveyor will point-out any phone or external TV aerial points or wiring that need to be moved prior to fitting your shutters. In some cases this can be done during fitting, but in other cases, we ask our customers to have this done by their service provider (such as BT) to ensure a clean and snug fit for the framework.
Frame Styles

Unlike many after market shutters that are sold, Riverside's Plantation Shutter panels are hung directly from their own individually made matching framework. Frame style and dimensions play an important factor which is why we have a number of options available in terms of style and fixing methods which include: simply battens as well as the Z Frame, where the shutters align flush with the corner of the outer recess - as can be seen in the image.

Choosing the right framework is important. Frame types include the Zenith and chamfered L frames made of timber which can be fixed to the inside of the existing window recess or directly onto the existing window framework.
A full 4-part frame or 3-part frame is often used in café style designs. Our highly popular 4-part frame is pictured here and is a good example of split-level 'tier-on-tier' functionality.

For windows with wider spans, we offer a neat, heavy-duty tracking system (see image) which fixes directly onto the ceiling within the recess. Folding the panels back is easy due to a smooth track-rod mechanism which is hidden behind a clean wooden valance.

The example here utilises a simple batten fixing method, which was selected due to access being required through a door and to allow sufficient clearance for the door opening inward into the room.
Handles and openings, which may foul on the louvres when a door is fully opened need to be taken into account in selecting the most appropriate framework and usually this is allowed for with a mid-rail.

This is a typical café style configuration. Most home owners with windows facing the street choose either a full-height configuration or a classic café style which whilst affording privacy also allows the highest level of lighting to be maintained.
We attach the Shutter framework to the existing window framework in order to allow you unrestricted access to your windows so you can open them for air and have easy access for cleaning.
