Frame Styles and Options
No two frame dimensions are the same, which is why our highly skilled surveying team are fully aware of all types of frame styles that will fit your opening perfectly, even with out-of-true plastered rebates.
In most cases, typical bay windows have a wide enough area to fix independent ‘L’ Frames to each opening. In the case of where the window frames meet at the bay points, we are able to apply our ‘bay-post’ frame, which attaches directly into the bay points, giving clean lines and great looks.
Due to its straightforward application, the Vintage L-Frame application is our most commonly used frame. Some shutter companies use simple batten fixings, which are ugly and show the screw fixings. Our Vintage L-Frame has a cover-strip which, when the frame are fixed and all the panels are hung, fixes snugly into the front leading edge of the frame, making it completely clean lines and NO fixings on-show.

In some cases, with a square bay, we also apply a corner-post into the bay points. Once again, this maximises the use of the area and ensures great looks with no large gaps.
In some cases, the customer asks for their shutters to fold-back onto the walls rather than sitting inside the recess as with the L-Frame application. This is easily taken care of by using our Z-Frame, seen here.
The Z-Frame fixes around the recess and is fixed inside the recess, keeping the fixings out of sight. This is popular with smooth finished rebates where there is no architrave or framework around the edges. The Z-frame is decorative too, adding even more style and great looks to your shutters.
In some instances, where there is a wide-window bay, we will fix a mid-point T-Post; this will strengthen the frame and increase the durability of the bi-folding panels.
