Shutter Fitting and Shutter Installation

Riverside offers the option of DIY fitting for the ‘advanced’ DIY enthusiast.
However, although the initial ‘offering-up’ of the independent framework (custom built to your measurements) is relatively straight forward, there are often small cuts and ‘tweaks’ that need to be made when fixing the new shutter framework to the window framework or recess. In most cases this will require specialist and professional tools.
Hanging the shutter panels is also relatively straight forward but again, it is very rare for all the panels to line-up perfectly, especially in Tier-on-Tier configurations: this requires critical micro-adjustments including hinge alignment and spacing.
In most cases, older Victorian or even new buildings have ‘defects’ in plastering/recesses as well as out of alignment wooden or UPVC window frameworks and even window sills that drop. These small defects are usually not noticeable to the eye but when fitting a perfectly angled framework, this can make an incredible difference to panel alignment and this is where our highly experienced team of fitters come-in.
Our surveyors take this into account when carrying out your survey, but notes are given to the fitter and the adjustments can be made in the final installation.
And then there’s the finish: our fitters always finish-off the new shutter framework where it meets the wall/framework with professional frame sealant to maintain clean and perfect lines.
Our installers possess expertise gained through years of experience in interior installation such as bespoke kitchens and shutter systems. With a high level of professionalism and all the tools necessary for the job, on-site fitting time is reduced to a minimum.
If you don't possess advanced DIY skills then we would highly recommend the services of our professional shutter installers in order to achieve a quality shutter installation.
Most hinges need small adjustments to level and straighten the shutter panels. These necessary adjustments to height and lift, using spacers (seen here) to ensure your shutters close snugly and are level. These fine adjustments require skills that only come with experience gained through working as a professional shutter fitter, an experience which Riverside values.
Riverside's Installers pride themselves on professionalism, always strictly maintaining the high quality controls and quality procedures put in place by Riverside.
You can totally rely on our shutter installers to carry out a thoroughly professional and clean job, taking away our waste for re-cycling.
